Butterfly Toddler Games

Butterflies can be a great way to study the letter B and will lead to a myriad of activities for your toddler. One such game is imaginary play. Toddlers need to develop their imagination and role playing as it is an important step in social development.

Pretend your child is a butterfly by making antennae out of pipe cleaners fastened to a headband. They use a colorful blanket spread across the back and held in each hand. Let your child flap around the house, flying as much as she'd like.

You can also pair this activity with the Letter C for Caterpillar and try using the book, "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" by Eric Carle along with these lessons!
