Parenting Tip #4
Getting Safely into and Out of the Car
Getting your toddler in and out of the car can be difficult, especially if you have more than one child to buckle in their seats or have your hands full. This is a great tip to help you do this safely, every time!
Implement a rule when loading and unloading into the car, everyone stay on the white parking space line. Feet on the line, no matter what. This will help prevent the meandering that children often do, especially during the toddler years. What you want to avoid, is them wandering into the street of oncoming cars,. Parking lots can be especially dangerous because unsuspecting cars are backing out and may not see your little one run out in front or in back of them. This tip can be a lifesaver, because it keeps them within range of your supervision and away from harm of other cars.
