Toddler Cherrio Necklace

Toddlers love to play dress up. They love wearing accessories such as hats, bracelets, and necklaces no matter the gender.

For this activity you will need heavy string and Cheerios.

Cut a piece of heavy string long enough to make a long necklace for your toddler. Then have your toddler lace the Cherrios on the strand to form a necklace. Let her wear the necklace and if she bites at it it will be a snack too!

Lacing is a difficult skill to master as it requires careful fine motor skills. Toddlers love to practice stringing, much like buckling. This necklace activity is sure to help develop these milestones.

Studies have shown that an average 24 month old toddler can say around 50 words. At any age, children can understand more words than they can say. During the third year of life, a toddler's "receptive vocabulary" will grow by a few thousand words!
