Little Hands Father's Day Craft!

Here is a great one for toddler's Daddies ! Work on some artwork, just for them.

For this activity, you will need paper, finger-paints, and markers and crayons.

Paint your toddlers hands, or if they are old enough allow them to put their handprints on a piece of paper to dry. Then cut the hands out, or if an older toddler allow them to cut the hands out. Attach a saying to the hands or write in the center of the hands this poem:

"Daddy put all your money into my little hand. I'll hold it tight, with all my might. Until a new toy comes into sight."

Then you can laminate it and give it to your toddler to give their Daddy as a card. It is sure to be a great hit!

I Love My Daddy Collage

This is a great Father's Day present, especially for those children that are small. Cut various picture from magazines you have on hand of activities that your toddler and Daddy like to do. You can choose things like your toddlers favorite foods, animals, wildlife pictures, almost anything you can think of. Next, have your toddler pick a few of their favorites to put on a piece of construction paper to make a collage. Use a glue stick to minimize the mess. You will be surprised at some of the things that your toddler choose, it will be a great way to understand them better and work on language skills. Talk about why it reminds them of Daddy and work on vocabulary. Your toddler won't be able to wait to show their Daddy all about their picture and Daddy will love it too!

Family Picture Book

Toddlers love talking about their family. They are the people they love. At 12-18 months, they are developing their words and are intrigued by books. Creating this book will give your toddler something to cherish. It also makes a great present for Mommies and Daddies!

You will need for this activity, construction paper, contact paper, pictures of your family and possibly pets, and stickers and other decorating materials.

Plan one page for each family member. You can cut the construction paper into hearts or whatever shape you like. Then glue a picture of the family member in the center. You can write on each page 'I love (name)' and allow your toddler to decorate the border. Try using a picture of your toddler as the cover. Cover all the pages with contact paper and punch holes in the pages at the top. Finish the book by binding the pages with a nice piece of ribbon.

This activity will give your child an opportunity to develop vocabulary skills and practice fine motor skills.

Father's Day Fishing Craft

For this activity you will need a stick from a tree outside, string, construction paper, googly eyes, and colors be it markers and crayons.

Let your toddler decorate your fish in whatever way that they want with markers and crayons. You want to let them express themselves. You can even use a googly eye to add to the fish. Use a hole puncher at
the end and attach a string to it and to the 'pole' or branch. On the back side of the fish write "I'm Hooked on You Daddy!" It is sure to be loved and your little toddler will be so excited to share it with their Dad. What is great about this activity is that it does not matter on the age of the child, even the young child can participate and complete by themselves.
