Key Wind Chime Activity
Activities and crafts are the easiest way to make learning fun for young ones. It makes it more interesting and will most assuredly stand out in their mind more. One fun way to explore the letter K is by using a key activity. Focus on the sound that the letter K makes ahead of time, your toddler will enjoy making this sound. Talk about all the things that start with the letter K and then explain to them that key starts with a K. This is a good opportunity to talk about what a key does and is used for. It can be amusing to little ones to know that a key can lock things away or keep a secret. Then you can proceed to make a key wind chime.
For this activity you will need either a wire coat hanger or a branch, such as driftwood. A few old keys and some fishing line.
It is relatively simple, just make sure to attach the keys well to the hanger or driftwood and have fun! It can be very fun to decorate and paint the keys. Little ones love glitter and shimmer, so gluing some of these could be fun! A toddler may not want to leave this wind chime up, but we guarantee they will enjoy saying 'key' and running around with it!
