All about the Letter X!

Lacing is great activity for toddlers. It provides them a way to practice these new found skills and develop control of their fine motor skills. Using a shoe lace is easier than yarn for them to master.

For this activity you will need cardboard, a hole punch, a shoelace, and markers or crayons.

First you will need to cut the cardboard into the shape of an X. Have your toddler decorate the letter in the way that they prefer with markers or crayon. Once complete, punch holes to follow the letters. Put the shoelace in one end and tie a knot to keep it from sliding on the backside. Let your toddler practice lacing the letter X!

Your toddler will be practicing their fine motor skills with the lacing and the coloring in this fun project.

Studies have shown that an average 24 month old toddler can say around 50 words. At any age, children can understand more words than they can say. During the third year of life, a toddler's "receptive vocabulary" will grow by a few thousand words!
