Matching Fun!

A great activity to do with toddlers for the letter M is matching. Matching skills increase with practice and will help develop cognitive recognition. You can do this easily with your toddler. You can sort socks, colored miniature marshmallows (also starts with a M) or another food. You can also put together a box of items and toys that go together. For instance, put two balls inside, two blocks, two stuffed animals, ect… Have your toddler find what goes together.

For a Color Theme, try using legos of the same color to review, or choose items of different colors and see if your toddler can find all the blue items, red items, ect...

Studies have shown that an average 24 month old toddler can say around 50 words. At any age, children can understand more words than they can say. During the third year of life, a toddler's "receptive vocabulary" will grow by a few thousand words!
