Homemade Washable Finger Paint Recipe

Keeping your toddler busy is a helpful way to keep your stress level down! Generally, the busier a toddler is, the happier the caregiver. Finger paints are a great way to offer an activity and craft to your toddler at the same time. Children love feeling the textures, the gooeyness through their fingers. The paint and the vivid colors often make it an easy way to practice color recognition too. The only drawback is that they can often be expensive and difficult to wash off, even the "washable" labels! This recipe is perfect as it will only take 5 minutes out of your day to make. You will likely have all the ingredients in your cabinet and it washes off so easy. It is one of our favorites!

You will need:
2 tablespoons Sugar
1/3 cup of Cornstarch
¼ cup liquid Dish Washing Soap
Food Coloring

Put the sugar and cornstarch in a saucepan and then mix in the water slowly.

Cook the mixture over low heat for 5 minutes.

Stir constantly until you have a smooth gel.

Stir in the dish washing soap.

Pour into individual containers.

Add food coloring to make your favorite colors and mix while it is still warm.

Let cool, then store in a container with a lid.

With this recipe, you will always have plenty of paint and fun for you and your toddler!
