Toddler Letter X Activity
X Stands for Kisses!

It can be difficult to find crafts and activities that use the letter X because it is not a commonly used letter. When you get stumped, try thinking outside of the box. Consider what a letter stands for. For instance with the letter X, it is commonly used in XOXO. X stands for Kisses is a great craft for you as an "I Love You or Kisses to You" card for parents is always a welcome treat!

For this activity you will need construction paper, crafting supplies, crayons, glue, and any other desired decorating materials.

Fold you card in half and let your toddler decorate it. Younger toddlers will just decorate the whole thing, scribbling everywhere. Let them do so, their art work will be a great background. Older toddlers will understand that they need to make a picture of sorts. Instruct them on where to color, maybe even have them practice writing the letter X on the card.

Then finish up by writing the words for your toddler inside the card,
"XOXO a Kiss and a Hug.
It's from me Mommy, your little Snuggle Bug!"
You can add a picture of your toddler and their parent on the cover if desired as well!

Remember this craft when it comes to Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, or Father's Day (change Mommy to Daddy). It is very possible to double up on your curriculum, explore letter X and make a craft/activity for a parent at the same time!

Easy Car Loading and Car Unloading Parenting Tip

Getting your toddler in and out of the car can be difficult, especially if you have more than one child to buckle in their seats or have your hands full. This is a great tip to help you do this safely, every time! Plus it works great straight through Elementary Years too!

Implement a rule when loading and unloading into the car, everyone stay on the white parking space line. Feet on the line, no matter what. This will help prevent the meandering that children often do, especially during the toddler years. What you want to avoid, is them wandering into the street of oncoming cars. Parking lots can be especially dangerous because unsuspecting cars are backing out and may not see your little one run out in front or in back of them.

This tip can be a lifesaver, because it keeps them within range of your supervision and away from harm of other cars.

Studies have shown that an average 24 month old toddler can say around 50 words. At any age, children can understand more words than they can say. During the third year of life, a toddler's "receptive vocabulary" will grow by a few thousand words!
